Nice quiet walk, full parking lot but didn’t see many on the trails. Fairly well marked trails and good kid friendly walk

Cool place overall to visit. Plenty to see with different terrains to navigate. Plenty of parkin at the trail head.

Fun hike. Hot & humid and mosquitos were in full force. Great views. Saw a beaver in the pond. Teenage boys enjoyed it so that was a plus.

Wide variety of things to see, however as others have mentioned trail makings could be better. You can make as long or as short a hike as you’d like. Even with the town map at http://www.merrimackoutdoors.org/application/files/2615/0759/4431/Grater_Woods.pdf It can still be a little challenging at times as markings aren’t consist (good in some places, non existent in others). Went on a a hot Sunday afternoon and only ran into 3 others on the trail. 4 overlooks, many with seats were nice places to have a picnic and check out the water views. Lots of paved parking at Merrimack Middle School. There are 2 other trail heads, one in Amherst and another in Merrimack at the end of a cul-de-sac.

DO NOT FOLLOW ALL TRAILS APP FOR THIS TRAIL. We got lost using it, and unfortunately needed to be rescued with the assistance of the Merrimack Police Dept who called the Merrimack Fire Department to come out and retrieve us. THANK YOU to both departments for there quick response to rescue my wife and I. We started at the Merrimack Middle School and were DEEP into the woods. Fortunately we found a vehicle trail that is used in case a fire erupts. This trail comes out to Wilson Hill Road, that connects eventually (a very long walk) to Turkey Hill Road and then to the school. I need to take lessons on reading a compass better to use it to track our selves on a map. Maybe make our own trail map as the woods are a great place to hike, but even better if you do not get lost. And if your seeking Woodland Creature wood art / creations, you will not be disappointed as the woods are filled with their creative art work. X's, tree breaks, some arched trees, lots of broken trees wedged into other trees at various angles. With a lot of these right along the trail, especially in areas where people need to pay attention to the trail. Lots of rocks, tree roots, and up and down paths sometimes at an angle. Yes, I am going back again.

We’d give this trail more stars if it was better marked. There were some really icy spots that made spikes necessary. It’s probably really nice in spring, summer and fall. There are a few nice lookout spots.

Fun and not too hard trail for most the hike about half of it is on more uneven terrain but nothing outrageous. Went with my boyfriend and dachshund. Took us about 2 hours to complete with some stops to give the pup water and take some photos. The ponds are scenic and there are wild raspberries along the trail as well. My only complaint was the trail isn't marked well. You would go a really long time between markers with relatively unmarked trails jetting off of it and then towards the end the trail seemed overmarked. We ended up taking a few wrong turns and adding some to the hike and then a few others that cut some distance.

Going to come back. The map on here did not lead us on the right path. Ended up back on school loop path. We're going to try again when it's not down pouring. Beautiful flowers and birds to see, and the trails are well maintained.

Had to take tadpole off shoot by the marshes because the trail was closed there. Definitely did a bit off trail and had to hike around some ice-y conditions but for the most part the trails were clear!
