awesome but need poles and good legs

The app clearly didn't work properly, as it says we did 2,500+ elevation gain. Probably 1,500 in actuality. Gorgeous hike, and definitely worth taking the spur trail down to Ripley Falls!

Few residual patches of snow at top near pond. No need for snow shoes or microspikes. Lots of water on trail - mostly avoidable by walking on boards or rocks.

Great hike today. Of the 5.4 miles, 3 were snow covered.

Not exactly an easy trail, at least today! We started in microspikes but quickly switched to snow shoes. Only a few hikers had been on the trail before us. Nice hike.

The trail is perfect for those who doesn't like intense climbing uphill. Only the first mile is tough, and the rest if a very pleasant walk to the AMC hut, Z-cliff or Zealand trail. We parked and started from Wiley House Station Rd. There is plenty of parking space.

Went here a few years back with Camp Wildwood on a one night backpacking trip. Ethan pond is a beautiful and peaceful spot. Sitting there and watching the sunset over the pond is one of my all time favorite camping experiences. If you are staying overnight there is a few tent platforms near the pond.

We started at the Zealand Falls hut and were headed to Wiley Station House Road. The first 4 - 5 miles was flat, with very slight uphills. The last several miles were downhill, with some rocks. Overall the trail was very tame compared to sections of the Greenleaf, Twinway and Garfield Ridge trails.
