lots of erosion. pretty crowded for, midweek. easy distance and short uphill sections.
Very short hike but very steep on the way up! We completed this is about 40 mins. The way up takes the longest! Nicely shaded until you get to the overlook. The view of Squam Lake is unbelievable for such a short hike. Great place to bring some lunch! The way down is nice and quick
We set out mid morning to hike this with our one year old and preschooler. Unfortunately, the trails was too slick with little pebbles and pine needles underfoot. Many places we were slipping and sliding. We did not make it to the summit but I look forward to trying it again in more mild weather. And when our daughter had a few more trails under her belt.
Absolutely beautiful!! And the view at the top... spectacular!! Took the ridge trail to the Cole Trail on the way back down. Those trails are also beautiful.
great hike with the kids and dog. could not see the lake through the trees. I'm sure once the leaves drop in the fall you'll get a better View.
Great quick 1hour challenging hike. Steep for a good workout. And a really pretty view of Squam Lake from a rocky cliff. Much of the trail is covered with pine needles which is easy on the legs on the climb but a bit slippery on tour way down. Just note that at the he end of the red trail turn right to continue on the ridge trail for less than a .25 mile for the view. Also being bug spray.
