Hike starts out easy and gradually gets steeper as you go. Very few sections of scrambling but you will come across it, specifically at the “Chimney”. East Osceola did not offer much of a view but there is a look out point before the peak at a fork in the trail. Osceola, on the other hand, has a gorgeous peak. Great out and back trail, be careful going down the “Chimney” as there is some loose rock

Absolutely fantastic hike. The 1st mile and a half I enjoyed the streams and fun logs to cross through the mud. There were bugs but nothing bug spray cannot handle. The hike up was not too difficult. A couple challenging sections but nothing an average hiker could not accomplish. The top of the Mt Osceola has fantastic views but way too many people that would not stop talking about absolutely nothing. My earbuds quickly solved that problem. The hike down was quick enough. I started using walking sticks today and were a major help on my this hike. Will never leave home without them again. I got caught in a rainstorm in the last mile which was a pretty awesome way to end the hike. Approximately 4:15 hiking time.

This trail is super cute and well maintained! The view from East mountain is nonexistent but the view from Osceola is fairly nice!

loved the chimney, so fun. bore left on the descent of it, that was a little more gradual and comfortable for me :) wish i’d brought more bug spray to reapply today. detoured to the pond on the way down, very serene and beautiful, glad i went to see it!

Well, it’s perhaps still a little too early to try and summit. The trail was snow covered, but also very slick, and while the first 1.3 miles was a breeze, as I hit 2 miles things got pretty dicey. Not only was there snow, but where the tree line opens about .3 miles from the summit, the snow was hard and icy. Being solo, I opted to skip the summit and head back down (didn’t trust crampons this time around). More snow is supposed to be on the way tomorrow, so maybe fresh snow will help, but for me I will be waiting a few more months for another attempt! Overall, though, the steepness is definitely a challenge, but it’s a beautiful hike!

Parked in Greeley Ponds lot, wasn't plowed so be careful. Now with another 10" of snow yesterday maybe someone will plow it out. Nice approach trail with several small stream crossings that were mostly rock solid with all the cold weather. The upper part of the East Osceola trail was washed off with much exposed ice. Folks coming down were struggling and going up wasn't so easy either. The summit was wonderful, about 10DegF or so but lite winds and several lookout spots. Nice frosty White Mtns!!

Very steep, only had one cramp-on but made it just fine—not encouraging it, please wear two if you have them. Beautiful (and I mean lovely) views on the way ( though not as open at the peak). Didn’t attempt the chimney because it was so icey looking but followed a side path just around it that was still very tricky due to rocks and inclination especially on the descent back down (please be careful!). Phone died in the middle but hit both peaks, and there was quite a descent and reascent between peaks.

This was a very wet and muddy hike at the beginning, and quite icy and slippery near the end. The latter made for a tricky ascent and descent when the trail gets steep and rocky. Veering off to Greeley Pond was nice enough, but in the long run it didn’t add much to the hike.
