This trail offers outstanding views at the end ascent to Lake in the Clouds. The trail is currently on the more challenging side due to blown down trees that cover the trail in some spots and overgrowth along the path which makes it necessary to search out the trail. 1.1 miles past the Eisenhower connector trail there is a sturdy shelter known as Dry Shelter #3; a perfect camp spot. I used this trail in a greater loop where I connected to Crawford Trail at Lake in the Clouds. A great experience, but challenging. The park still needs to do more maintenance on this route.
