This is a truly spectacular trail with amazing views of White National Forest.
This was a really nice trail for what we were looking for today! Great views, a challenging climb but not too hard, beautiful waterfalls! No bugs!!!!
Nicely packed along Valley Way but snowshoes needed going up Inlook trail to summit. Beautiful views along the way and from summit.
the first part was great. snow shoes weren't needed. but as soon as you start Inlook trail, it got steep very quickly. once you get to the first peak, the trail gets lost. the markers must be on the rocks and not the trees, because we could not find the trail anymore. and the snow got very very deep. overall very nice spot, but couldn't finish it.
Micro spikes were very much needed and I probably could have done better with snowshoes. I sunk in quite a bit after branching off the Valley Way trail. Was a nice hike with the family.
1/9/21 - I made a 4 mile counter-clockwise loop out of this hike by following the Kelton Trail to Sylvan Way back. It was surprisingly steep much of the way. Luckily the trail was broken into, but spikes are highly recommended. Lots of stepping up big boulders. The trails are all blazed well with plenty of trail junction signs along the way. There are many amazing views of the Presidentials on the ascent. Although the parking lot was just about full, I only saw 4 people, all of which were near the trailhead. I'd certainly come back again.
Amazing! Spikes to start and finish with snowshoes used up higher although care used because we need more snow and a lot of tricky snowshoe placement!
Took the fall way trail along the waterfalls. 1 river crossing but it was easy to cross as it was covered with snow and ice. The trail to dome rock is steep but not long. The views are beautiful. Lots of viewpoints. My daughter and I used snowshoes the whole time but micro spikes would have been fine. Great conditions and great weather. I have done this hike 3 times. It's one of my favorite quick hikes.
