Great views! With a couple of breaks took 90 minutes. Good hike to do when you don’t have to much time to spare. Not sure I’d do it again though.

Great hike today. Did it clockwise. Very dry trail. Minimal other hikers. Lots of burnt trees in ground....not sure what that is about.

Simply lovely trail! My family and I went counter clockwise so it was steeper in the way up and more gradual down. It was me (28 weeks pregnant), my husband and, our 5 year old, almost 3 year old and 70 year old mom. We’re experienced hikers and all loved it and took about 3.5 hours. Love the views from the ledge!

Nice moderate hike. Not easy but certainly not hard. You have to work for it a bit. Be sure to look for sign at top for overview of valley. Easy to miss. Recommend you do it clockwise. Boldest are impressive.

First hike in awhile for my husband and I, went counter clockwise as suggested, loved the boulder fields and caves, trail was very well marked and views from the top spectacular! Next time we will go clockwise to see the other “interest spots” as noted on the pamphlet provided by the US Forest Service.

great trail! bring water, a small pack, snacks....its NOT a simple little trail, but it is entirely doable. we saw a lot of people who underestimated the trail...no water, flip flops..... you do need the right shoes and you will need water. the views are amazing!!!! there are many little and big ledges to get great pics from. counter clockwise worked for us. it's steep either way once you get midway to the top.

A scenic and popular trail in the Passaconaway Valley. It won't present much of a challenge to experienced hikers in the White Mountains, but it's a great introduction to the region with pretty spectacular views from the ledges along the spur trail at the top. Have hiked this one with people from five years old up into the seventies and everyone has enjoyed it. Did this clockwise today in just under 2 and a half hours with lingering pauses for water and valley-gazing at top. BLT rivals Mt. Willard and Pine Mountain in the rewards it offers for the moderate effort required. If you take kids and dogs, though, pay attention to them on ledges at top. No guardrails in wilderness, folks!

Fairly moderate hike , only a few steep sections going up counter-clockwise. Good views with many cliff settings to sit and rest at the top. Also located near a very old covered bridge on the Swift River. Stopped on the way back to cool my legs off in the water. good family hike.

Great hike! My 9 year old was able to complete it without too much trouble. Well marked, not too busy. You need to go over the bridge to reach the second parking lot if you don’t want to walk a little extra, however walking over the covered bridge was nice! View from the summit was fantastic. Several quiet spots to sit and eat lunch.

This was a great hike for occasional hikers. Great view at the summit. It wasn’t too crowded for a beautiful Saturday in August.

Excellent easy (at the start) to moderate (closer to the top) hike with stunning views on top. Made it counterclockwise as suggested earlier.

Most of our group prefer to go up steeper terrain and come down more moderate slopes. So, contrary to many previous reviews, we hiked this trail clockwise. We were happy we did. The climb wasn't too bad anyway. Buggy. Well marked except for one spot.

Great trail but the view was a little crowded in by trees

Great moderate hike. But we all think the overall mileage is more than 2.8. according to the White mountains, NH website the trail is 3.5 and our fitbits agreed. The overlooks are beautiful. Took the dogs and they are very happy.

Recording is inaccurate due to pausing and lack of data. Took about 1 hour to get up, we probably spent 45 minutes or so at the top having lunch, and then an hour back down. We went counterclockwise to take the more gradual route up, which I think was smart. Coming down the other side, it was definitely a steeper incline. Good, fun workout either way though! View was beautiful for the effort! Almost no mud, bugs were not bad, the trail is well marked and shaded. It was not terribly crowded for a Friday in August, either. Would definitely reccomend and return.

As advertised and reviewed by others: far better views than such an easy hike should yield. Recommended for a half day excursion and for taking kids or dogs. Lots of space at the top for lunch with a vista. Going counter-clockwise is good advice. Breezes at the top on this hot day were welcomed after the stifling woods.

Really beautiful hike. Like others, I suggest going counter clockwise. Steeper on the way up. Take the alcove all the way in off the loop for the view. Lush forests and great mountain viewing. Well marked.
