HikingGreat!

Very easy hike, the views are good but not spectacular. Definitely worth the hike considering how easy it is. Hurricane Mountain road is closed in the winter months.

HikingGreat!

Pleasant, well marked trail. Went up to Black Cap first, and felt like doing more so took the trail out to the top of Cranmore. The only confusion came when the Cranmore trail split and one leg was not marked. I believe the right fork said Hurricane, and no label to the left. You want to go left. The trail will drop out on a gravel road. Turn right and follow the gravel road a few hundred yards past a tower. It will come out at the top of the ski lifts and have great views. Nice hike. Very enjoyable.

Great views. Not too steep but steep enough to keep up the heart rate!

Did black cap to cranmore for a sunrise loop - definitely a better west facing than east facing summit but still phenomenal views overall!

Watch for mountain bikers, relatively flat, bathrooms and food at the top lodge, lots of loose dirt and gravel, trail narrows. Heavily trafficked trail

HikingGreat!

It was good. Well maintained. Easy to follow, however the connecting trail is also a mountain biking path, and they come down fast, two ways, so you have to watch out for bikers.

Super fun trail. Beautiful, will return. Foggy day for the views but it felt really good. 63 degrees in August hard to come by. Really busy trail. Be mindful of bikers on the Cranmore Trail.

Trail is well maintained but heavily trafficked, both hikers and bikers. That said, the views at the top of Black Cap are worth the short trek. Also hiked over to Cranmore, Easy hike, great views and ice cream and cold beer at the concessions stand. I would recommend and possibly do again.

Views from Black Cap are spectacular from the West Side of the Summit (better than at the top). The Top of Cranmore has a restaurant with ice cream and beer so don't forget your wallet! Highly recommend this trail.

Bugs

I did this hike with my boyfriend and our lil Chihuahua, Chloe. It was an easy, short hike for us. The trail was well maintained and the view from the summit was breathtaking! The bugs were out. We had planned to lunch once we got to the summit, but the bugs were annoying.
