As others said before-there’s logging happening through the first 1/3 of this walk, you almost wonder if this is the right place...but stay with it...this is a perfect walk for families (folks with dogs?) ...it’s easy. The path is wide, nothing gets steep, and it’s short...maybe 15 -20 walk and it open right up onto a beautiful view!! As if you had climbed up a steeper, harder hike. It was perfect for a family to take a nice walk in the woods, not hard, not long but with a beautiful view at the end. Also, you park down I. A parking area by the pond...and then walk up the dirt road a bit, you will see a sign that says “bald ledge trail” ...easy to follow after that.

The trail is a mess from the logging. We were not sure where to go at first. But I had read in the reviews to keep going so we did. There was a small sign stating it was closed during the week due to the logging. We didn’t hear any trucks or saws so we decided to go anyway. There was no one around. So worth the trip, it is so beautiful up there. Very easy

HikingGreat!

Disappointed that they logged out about half the Trail but you cannot beat the views for the ease of this hike. No reason not to stop here if you’re in the area.

The first part of the trail is all torn up due to logging operations. Once we got past that, it was nice. View at end was great!

HikingGreat!Off trail

As others mentioned, it was quite difficult to figure out where the trail is because they have been deforesting the area. We parked near the lake (there's about maybe 6 or so spaces), then walked up quite a few unmarked rough roads before we finally found some signage for the actual trail. We were honestly going to turn back because the area didn't look like a trail at all, but luckily other hikers pointed us in the right direction. The views at the end were absolutely gorgeous and looks even more amazing in real life than in photos.

Great trail. Good for the kids, even a three year old did it all by herself! Gorgeous views! Parking is at the boat launch walk up a class iv road to a gate. Might get a little mucky after a lot of rain. Nice and smooth.

Favorite hike of the year! Easy terrain and a quick hike out to a GORGEOUS overlook. We parked at the boat launch and hiked up the class IV road to the gate...absolute perfection, our little 10 pound doggo had a blast too

Great little walk through the woods. Today was a little muddy due to the recent rains, but the trail is in hreat shape. View at the top of the ledge not as spectacular as usual due to the overcast/rainy conditions, but nice all the same.

Best place to leave the vehicle is at the Sky pond boat launch, otherwise, there is a spot on the side of the road closer to the trailhead... but the road is pretty rutted.. From the boat launch, you can sneak to the road via a short path and walk the few hundred steps along the dirt road to the marked trail head on the left. Bring your bug spray if you tend to be a tasty morsel for the bugs. Otherwise, it's an easy hike with gorgeous views at the top, as a reward!

Jeff and I came in from Beech Hill Rd New Hampton, You gain elevation quickly then level off. Trail was seasonally muddy with black flys just starting. Great views when you reach Bald Ledge.

Really fun trail with a great view for minimal work! Our three year old was able to handle hiking the trail all the way in. We spent a good amount of extra time just exploring.

Awesome view. Easy hike, pretty rocky. The road to the trail is not maintained by the town so I wouldn't recommend driving up it unless you have a proper vehicle.

This was an April hike. Because it’s so shaded, it was very icy. Just make sure you have great footwear and hiking poles. Several wide steams to get over. Lots of snow melt making it pretty soggy. The view is awesome though!!
