Alton Town Forest is a 0.9 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Alton Bay, New Hampshire that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from May until September.

Great parking right next to trailhead. Loop is available or like what I did I bushwhacked to the top and there is a clear path this winter from others doing so! Keep straight when you get to the large boulder if you started the loop counter clockwise.

I actually went beyond the trail and bushwhacked to the top of Avery hill. Then I came down at the blue trail on the other side of the mountain, then cut across the snowmobile trail back to Alton Mountain Road.
