The trail is hard to find from the parking lot. We started on one which made it harder to walk due to the sand and it getting all in our socks/shoes plus the heat. However I will definitely back more towards winter time instead of September since they still has triple digits day!

Did it in the middle of the day and it is bearable if you have plenty of cool water and keep moving. Parts of this trail are sand as well

I thought this was a great little trail that was really fun working through the closeness of the canyon. The park has done a great job making stairs to change elevation very easily. I had a blast!

It's a easy short hike, so take your time and enjoy it. The hardest part was the sand in the beginning, after that it's easy all the way. Everything about the hike is beautiful, but my favorite part was the slot canyon. Best time to go would be late in the afternoon, the rocks will provide you shade. Here is a video of the hike: https://youtu.be/UWkxA2cz8PU

This trail was so beautiful. Take your time as you will want to stop throughout and take pictures and marvel at the beauty of the park. This trail is very beautiful. While the trail isn’t hard or long, you will break a sweat going through the sand.

This trail is arguably the best one at Valley of Fire. It is a loop trail. Best done in a clockwise direction (essentially at the trailhead signs). Trail itself is very well marked. Hiking clockwise means you will scramble a bit going down, but no scrambling on the return loop. Essentially an easy hike. At the bottom are the remnants of a Hollywood Movie set. There is a marker telling the story along with info on the film made there back in the 1960's. Following the movie set remnants, is a short walk through a sandstone wash followed by a nice slot canyon. Beautiful vistas all along the way both before and after the slot. The walk out from the bottom is very easy, featuring more beautiful vistas and rock formations. Do not forget your camera on this one!!!

I’m pretty sure I took the boring, less traveled trail that goes under the road through a tunnel and take you on the other side. Easy look. Pretty view but wanna see more on the other side of the trail with slots and pretty red rock.

it is a super easy trail. There are 2 slots and you can walk easily in them. There is the possibility of some scramble, however there is a lot of sand. The sandstone make harder to scramble. There are signs that say "TRAIL" so it is impossible to get lost. Good trail if you want to simply hike and enjoy the colors of this beautiful place

Lovely! The beginning of the hike is definitely the best. Watched the sunset from one of the high rocks about a 1/4 mile into the hike. Really peaceful.

This hike was great! Very family friendly! The views were amazing. Definitely worth the time it take to hike the trail. I highly recommend this one if you only have one day to explore the park. If you have challenges hiking, I would recommend going backwards on the trail since going down the rock staircase can be challenging. By going backwards you can easily get the views on the backside of the rock wall. If you feel adventurous, try the entire loop backwards! Climbing the rock staircase might be easier!

Great hike. The steep climb down into the canyon is rugged, just take your time, the rest of the hike is a breeze.
