Random trail to do if you’re nearby. Challenging to find the trail.

This is such a strange trail, but so great for an adventure. Park near the busted out gate. The trail will change depending on the water level of the lake. Bad for running, great for adventure.

GOING TO STATE THIS IN ALL THE "SO CALLED TRAILS" AROUND SWAN LAKE: THEY'RE ALL AWFUL. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. First impressions when I got there? "Tow zone" is at the entrance and the entrance is fenced up, not completely blocked though. The gate entrance looked like it was rammed into as if a vehicle charged into it. Headed towards the loop of the route, so far so good. What's this? Oh turns out the trail is flooded. Not like a "oh, i'll just walk in the water" kind of way, flooded as in if you step in the mud you'll sink in 2 feet. Fine, I'll just go around.. and AROUND I DID (refer to my recording on the detour I had to take to find the trail again). Guess what??? The trail is almost non-existent. You'll be scrambling in tall prickly weeds, sand like substrate and little pot holes made by animals. What can else can go wrong?? THE TRAIL IS UNDERWATER (Did I mention I'm doing this during April?) Yup! I'm done, I'm going to just head back now out of the fear of my car getting towed in the process. Stay away from this route. TRAIL RUNNING POV: Just don't. Not even worth trying to cram in a mile. DOGS: Just don't. Disgusting water, mud, and weeds of all kinds that can get tangled in fur. Biggest concern was all the holes made by wild animals. There could be rattlesnakes in them, wasn't up for my dog to get bitten by a rattlesnake.

First to Review

This trail was kind of random. First 100 feet are on the shoulder of a fairly busy road along a turn so visibility is limited. Lots of trash to look at. Seems that it has a bit more draw when the sagebrush is green.
