Great trail! Once you get on the trail and start heading up, it’s VERY WELL marked! (Thank you to the marking people!) Green and white dots and arrows! We did it in 3 hours... great views but not the best “red rocks” for pictures. From parking lot, look left for the trail head start (sign is off the pole) so we walked a long time Off trail in gravel wash (ugh) until we found and met up with trail... otherwise it was great. Note we also started at about 11am and finished at 2 so it was hot but not bad at all. Breezy... we only saw about 2 other hikers on this trail today. Maybe bc it was Monday at 11am? Great stuff. Good elevation but not too crazy difficult.

Got lost towards the top since there are many ways up. I would recommend to keep looking for signs (white/green paint) on rocks.

This is a great easy 4 hour hike for you and your family, I say it’s more of moderate than hard and the views are almost as good as it gets, great look-over point. Overall the hike is easy and you shouldn’t have any issues with it. Keep in mind it’s only 5 miles.

Beautiful, but quite tough to find the trail. Ended up not going all the way to the top because I got a little concerned about my ability to safely make it down without poles on the screen and dry dirt.

Pretty difficult, but the views are worth it! The beginning is a winding flat path through the desert, with plenty of cool rock formations, and then comes quite a bit of up, but with wonderful views and red rocks the whole way. There's no shade at the top, so for lunch we hiked a bit down and found a tree to hide under. At the very top you can see the strip and there's a box full of notes from previous hikers! Going up, it was overcast and it only took us 1.5 hours to reach the summit. Going down took us a little less than that. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and wear athletic shoes. We ubered to and from the strip; thankfully there's plenty of cell service at the base.

Hiked this in March 2018. Great workout but we were novice hikers at the time and were wearing tennis shoes. Looking back, wished we would’ve had hiking boots. Steep incline and trail wasn’t well marked the farther up you went, I think we were going up off the trail at one point and may have made it more difficult for ourselves haha. Nonetheless, great hike with breathtaking views!

Make time for this beauty. It’s physically challenging as it is long and quite vertical in areas. Bring plenty of water and a snack to enjoy at the peak. Pace yourself as it deceptively longer than it looks especially if you opt to take more of the switch back route. If hiking in April or May the flowers along the way are breath-taking. The beginning is clearly marked but as you get up higher on the trail there is more than one way up. The farther right, the steeper. Some have marked a route with spray painted dots and arrows, but these are easy to miss. Either way, we were grateful to have them. Cautions: * Probably not the best choice for folks with ankle, knee or hip issues. Unless you are in excellent condition and used to strenuous hiking with altitude, give yourself more time than you think (3 to 4 hours roundtrip). It’s worth it not to be rushed and to have time to enjoy the view at the peak. * If you hike during high winds it can be powerful especially the last 30-45 minutes before the peak. * Best to start early in the day. Since it’s longer than it looks, best not to get stuck hiking after dark.

If you like challenges then this hike is for you. It seems a lot longer then 4.7 miles. I want to say it’s close to 6 miles. Make sure you have good amount of water. We did hiked on July 4th so you know it was very very hot. Anyhow we loved it. The view from the top is amazing. Definitely worth it. I would do it again if I am in the area.

Awesome trail, and like everyone says the view is totally worth the climb. Hard level perhaps, more like advanced medium. Trail does have markings, but they can be a little tricky to find in some spots. Definitely learn the trail and keep checking. All in all, favorite hike so fat!

A few things made this trail a lot easier: 1) 2 hiking poles, 2) hiking boots with ankle support, 3) 3 large bottles of water. Look for the paint marks and arrows once you get to the rocky parts. Paint was usually white dots, but sometimes red or blue. Someone on the trail mentioned the arrows are new! Between that and recording the trail on this app...it was a great experience! Avid hikers will not be disappointed.
