Nothing says happiness quiet like being "spare changed" while out for a walk. This could be a really nice area with the art, architecture and the river. The campers ruin it for me. Normally, I take several photos of the walks that I take. Not so with this walk, due to the garbage/clothing/janky towns left behind. I did see an otter swimming across the river; which is why it got 2 stars.

It's right in downtown, which isn't my thing, but once you get away from all the casinos and closer to Idlewild it's actually very pretty. Heavily populated, so it's a nice place to people watch too. Be careful at night. Good area for playing Pokemon Go too.

Nice scenic walk. I prefer a little more challenge.

The river was so awesome this weekend. All the rain completely flooded the river and it was MOVING! A lot of the roads to cross it were closed due to the high water levers. It was amazing to see!

Simple enough and nice to look around with kids and pets. Not a trail worthy of trail shoes. Managed in flip-flops. But if you want a nice path to walk your dog at or visit downtown, this is good.

My husband had work in Reno which we went to after hiking for 3 days. This river walk was a delightful escape from the cityscape of casinos etc which i hate. Its basically a paved walkway along the river. Its quite pretty. They have man made breakers in the water and flat boulders that people were sunning, kayaking, floating and taking a dip in the river. When I recently visited (6/2016)this walk also featured several sculptures from a past Burning Man Festival . Very cool and interesting. full sun so put on some sunscreen and bring a bottle of water!

The trail is a bikeway and it goes a lot farther but we started at Mayberry park and walked around Dorotskar park and went back. This will continue on to several other parks including Chrissie Caughlin, Ivan Sacks, and Idlewild all the way to downtown Reno. It's mostly or all paved (I believe all but I didn't follow it to know) and easy travel. There can be some decent gaps between bathrooms but otherwise it is kid and dog friendly. Some parts follow right next to the river and others are just off. The scenery is nice but still enough civilization here and there to know you're not out of the city.
