Super beautiful and the water was perfect! There was a herd of wild horses as we approached but a safe distance away. Fair warning! There was a lot of Mormon crickets on the road up, they were not at the spring itself but it may get worse as it gets nicer out.

Awesome spring. Water is clean, and at night the sky is lit up by countless stars. Road isn’t bad in dry weather, but under no circumstances should you attempt this without four wheel drive. Some people have gotten lucky and faired just fine. But when I went, there was a LIGHT drizzle of rain. The entire place bogged down. I was fine in my Jeep, but I had to leave several people in little sedans stranded out there. The kicker? Zero cell service. Called the ranger station as soon as I had signal again, which was about 20 minutes away from where I left the stranded folks. Highly recommend. But keep dogs leashed, and endure you’re ready to be stuck for several hours should it rain and you don’t have 4x4.

It's actually closer to Gerlach. Some sharp rocks at the bottom of the springs, bring shoes you can wear in. Nice in the middle of winter, but it really sucks when you have to get out.

300 yard long Hot Spring Trench in the Southern Black Rock Desert. Great place to just chill, and swim. Excellent views. Right next to the train tracks.
