Seems like few dog owners clean up after their pet. There is dog poop all over the trail.

I would’ve really liked this hike had it been better marked. My husband and I missed one little turn and ended up turning this hike into a 7 mile hike. We tried it again and still ended up lost. This trail needs to be marked more clearly and it’s super over grown.

Good trail if you want to go on a hike that is fairly easy and not too strenuous! The uphill in the beginning of the trail isn’t too difficult but it definitely gets your heart rate up. The rest of the trail is flat and runs along a creek. It is a very pretty trail with views of the Truckee River and Mayberry. I did come across a snake at one point so make sure to watch out for them. There are spots where the plants are a bit overgrown and there is also a rocky area. Overall, though, I really enjoyed this trail and would come back to do it again. If you plan on going at some point during the end of the summer, make sure to bring some water as it gets quite hot out!

Was definitely a great hike. Awesome walking by the creek and seeing it flow good. A few patches where there are a bunch of bees so just got to be real careful.

Moderately steep and rocky trail from the parking area up to the main trail along the canal that meanders along the hillside, with beautiful views to the north and east. The trail along the canal is wide over to the Hole In the Rock, then narrows as you head north for the river. As you reach the bottom, you have to either go around or walk through a neighborhood to reach the trailhead. As said in previous post, this Friday afternoon few were on the trail, so we had a quiet, relaxing hike.

What a lovely trail! The beginning (if you loop clockwise) is somewhat steep, but you crest quickly and the rest of the loop is very flat, wide, and well maintained. There’s a huge crisscross of trails available (the “loop” is 3.7 miles, but you could easily make that longer or shorter depending on your preference). I didn’t see any good trail maps on the premises; I relied heavily on the app to figure out which branches to take. Parts of the trail are quite scenic and tucked away, but there are also sections that have heavy freeway noise or run right along suburban fencing. Lots of off-leash dogs. Great for a casual weekend hike or even an after work walk!

Great little hike. Took my dog and she loved it. Lots of places with water. Despite the rain we’ve had recently there was very little mud in some places. Mostly dry and perfect weather for a hike! Easy to navigate with the path being very wide. Several smaller trails throughout... choose your own adventure kind of trail.

winter day in january: *trail is muddy, lots of water, sloppy and great fun. *water all along the trail, so the dogs had a great time. *pretty picturesque in places. *very close to reno, for a quick getaway. *quite a few other trail tangents to explore while you're there_to make the route shorter or longer. *always hear highway 80 in the distance. *we saw a coyote on the trail in mid day, which was interesting. *trail "Hole In The Wall" is along this trail, about mid way. *not many people out here in this sort of weather/season_ though I understand it can be really really popular in the summer.

CREDIT CARDS ARE BEING STOLEN FROM CARS!!! I went hiking a few weeks ago at this trail and both my debit and credit cards were stolen from our car. Another friend went this week and the same thing happened. Both times the thief went to Best Buy and spent upwards of $3000.00. Please leave your valuables at home. The hike was fine.

The trail is close to Reno with easy access. However, there is highway noise for most of the hike. Also, once you get up to the flume level, it is largely a flat and boring hike.

It was fun kinda hard at first but going up but after it was awesome views. Be careful tho we found a rattle snake close to the houses by the little library!!!!!

I prefer the Hole in the Wall trail to this one. The difference of making a loop out of the trail doesn't add much scenery. It does add walking past fenced backyards and barking dogs. Trail was a mix of mud and snow after the last few days of snowfall. I would expect it to dry out quickly.

Very nice trail, very easy and chill, some unleashed dogs and a bit muddy at the end of the trail. I’ll recommend not going to finish the loop and turn back a quarter of the trail left to avoid muddy parts!

Another urban trail. With some views of downtown Reno at the top

Boring as far as scenery goes, but a good easy hike and my dog loves it.
