Pretty, nice, and flat hike that is kid friendly. Took our 5 year old and he loved it. Misquotes don’t ever bite me but my wife and son said there were a lot of them, but only when we got close to the shore. Great place to hike around and then have lunch in the park.

Beautiful hike. Well-traveled but not too busy - still easy to enjoy solitude - well-maintained. Hiked on an August afternoon - comfortably warm, trail was dry. Great for dogs.

I've done this trail throughout each season, and with a newborn on my back, plus a toddler and two big kids. All survived and were so busy keeping an eye on their footing that they never had the chance to complain. I loved it. Winters are iffy, some sections will be closed off. Sledding Spooner is super fun for all skill levels. Spring is perfectly cool, not too warm however, there are swampy/muddy areas and sometimes the meadow is a little rough to pass through. Long pants are always a must since the grasses are tall and sharp. There are vista points with a bench to sit and rest. Senior friendly for an active healthy senior, I highly recommend a pole or cane for those slight imbalances. Kids do great on this trail. Wildlife frequents the lake such as bears and deers. Awesome tidbit plaques on Native Tribe living and historical facts about Spooners come abouts.

My 9-year-old sons , 83 year old father, and I hike this trail when we want something short and easy. There are some beautiful views. I’ve seen rangers on the trail giving guided tours. It can get really busy in the summer months so be prepared to bump into people.

Still 80% covered in snow and mud, so beware if you aren't in good boots. No need to snow shoe, but there were some treacherous snow banks and a few slips down some slopes. Lake view was just okay.

Not that easy in the spring on foot. Good cardio but then again...I’m not that in shape - lol

Very good walk around the lake. Good for beginners. The view on the lake is beautiful - it was still frozen when we went. Stunning! We walked on snow all around the lake with our hiking shoes and it was totally fine. Sun cream and sunglasses needed if you go on a sunny day.

It was a pretty little snowshoe/hike. There were parts that were more adequate for taking your snowshoes off. Aspens, pines and shrubs made it scenic but a gorgeous sunny day made it perfect.

Great mellow trail. Beautiful in late October when the aspens are changing.

Took my pup out for a jaunt. Most of the trail was closed, but it was a pretty walk. Very loud in most places because of highway and helicopters. Trail not marked around the lake, but seems pretty clear at the start. Check the maps up front. Will be back to do surrounding trails!
