Spooner Lake Trail is a 2.5 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Glenbrook, Nevada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Note: There is a park entrance fee of $10.
Easy-peasy trail, lots of places to sit and take in the view. Also lots of people and traffic noise, though, so if seclusion and privacy are your thing, this is probably not the trail for you.
Saw only two others. Slippery at times. Wear good boots if you want to hike down to the water’s edge.
Nice easy trail around the lake. We missed the fall colors by only 2 weeks we were told. Still beautiful tho. Saw eagles!
This is a beautiful, soft trail with abundant wildlife, such as American Coots (black feathers with white beak) and a variety of trees, like Jeffrey, Lodgepole, and Sugar pines and Aspen. All around the Lake there are interesting placards about the forest and the Spooner family (Spooner Station). The trail and location has a rich history. Benches at many places along the trail. Plenty of parking near the trailhead. $10 cash entrance for day use. State is presently (early Nov. 2020) doing a lot of forest management around the north and east shorelines. Preventing forest fires from spreading. Thank you Nevada! Good job!
