This 0.5-mile trail runs south from the Redstone Picnic Area to make a scenic loop around a large, red sandstone outcrop before returning to the picnic area. Signs along the trail provide information about the local geology. This is a nice, scenic little nature trail. In addition to the trail, the piles of red sandstone provide a great place for families to scramble and climb around on the rocks. Even if you don't walk the trail, this is a fun little area.

Really cool stop with some amazing red rock formations! There are a lot of little caves and crevices. It's hard to tell exactly where the trail is so we just climbed the rock.

The Redstone Dunes are very pretty. We didn’t really stick to the trail, but we didn’t know that. The trail we walked was amazing too, I‘d call it the „Trump Trail“ because one of the Redstone Dunes has definitely Trump‘s face on it :-)

Absolutely stunning views of the fossilized Aztec Sandstone dunes and volcanic rock formations higher above, but anyone allergic to bees should know that this trail is currently overrun with them. This is possibly due to the nearby picnic area.

My family had so much fun climbing on the formations. My 9 year old said this was more fun than a Disney Cruise, which he loved. My kids have no fear love to climb so this was perfect for our family.

The trail is hard to follow near the picnic area but once you get near the red sandstone mound it goes around it's much easier to follow. Interesting rock formation.
