Getting There

Rainbow Vista is a perfect name for the view one gets from the trailhead! The sandstone colors of the surrounding rock cover the entire color spectrum. Easy hike to the Fire Canyon Overlook. The beginning of the hike is very sandy. Great views. During the summer, be sure to do this hike early in the morning because there is no shade and the temperatures will be over 100 degrees.

Paved parking provided.

From Valley of Fire Hwy, left on Mouse's Tank Rd and drive approximately 2 miles.

HikingGreat!

Deep sand most of the path. Watch for sand on rocks, makes slick spots. Lots of cool rock formations & colors. We enjoyed it!

Nice hike but not the best given how amazing other hikes on this park are. The whole way is sand, too.

Beautiful spot to observe sunrise. Views improve if you venture a little off trail scramble.

Sandy trail, but can walk on rocks much of the time. Short, easy trail. Went at 4pm, so were shady spots, but payoff at end was a dud, as was all in shade so rocks were not glowing red, as I suspect they would be with sun on them. If take side loop on way back, narrow arch is on right side, stick fairly close to rocks to be able to see it. Good view this time of day, with sun on arch and blue skies behind.

It was 105 degrees but worth it. Saw so many colors of the land. One of the best views in the park

We did this trail on 7/15 Easy trail that is beautiful and tranquil. The red rocks look absolutely beautiful especially during the sunset. The change of color is incredible. The sad can at times make it hard to walk on but you can easily push through. The drive up and the surprising red rocks in the midst of the Rocky Mountains was certainly a great surprise to see.

This is a short little hike that offers more views of the incredible rock formations in the area. The trail is in very loose sand, which adds to the amount of work needed to make your way down the short decline to the view point. Lots to look at along the way!

Nice easy trail with great spots to take photos. The trail did have a lot of soft sand so be prepared for that. But overall a nice hike

Simple in-and-out that doesn’t result in a great view. The best part of the trail is the large hill about 0.2 mi in that’s not technically on the trail, but has had a trail made to it. From the top you can see lots of the valley. Going beyond that to the final outlook isn’t really worth it though.
