One of the sites at the Valley of Fire. Rainbow Vista is a perfect name for the view one gets from the trailhead! The sandstone colors of the surrounding rock cover the entire color spectrum. Easy hike to the Fire Canyon Overlook. The beginning of the hike is very sandy. Great views. During the summer, be sure to do this hike early in the morning because there is no shade and the temperatures will be over 100 degrees.

A short hike through soft sand to a rock outcrop that has some great views. From the outcrop you can walk down a rock/sand wash to a vista with some more views. Well worth the short trip!

The trail is poorly marked, but pretty much everyone trampled in the same direction so you could tell more or less where it went. The trail branches at one point fairly close to the start; the left branch has some fairly deep side, but has an additional viewpoint. I think this viewpoint may be Rainbow Vista, but I wasn't too impressed. The side trail loops back into the main trail. If you follow it to the end, you'll arrive at Red Canyon Overlook. It's relatively pretty, and is worth the hike. Just don't expect to find a rainbow, because Fire Canyon is all red. I really wish the signage or the guidebooks they gave you were a little more descriptive, because I felt I missed something on this trail. From the other reviews and pictures on this trail, I'm not the only one.

Short and easy hike, only the deep sand can be a nuisance. Get here very early or very late on the hotter days. We did it end of May at 6 am and were surprised that we we had the trail all to ourselves.

It was a nice trail. We couldn't find elephants rock for some reason.

beautiful colours but i think doing this at sunrise would be best to bring the colours out in the rock

I pretty stayed on the trail to the end of trail sign. Lots of sand to make you work harder. Didn't think much of the view. It was an ok hike. Several people hiked up the rock on either sign which may have provided a better view.

One of my favorites, on the path or up the rock.

Gorgeous scenery. Do this hike at sunrise to see the canyon at its best.

Valley of Fire is a must visit if you're in the area, meaning Las Vegas. The Rainbow trail may not be long but you'll say "wow" fifty times. The scenery is worth the 5th star.

Beautiful trail! Gorgeous views and many places to climb or scramble the rock. The trail itself is almost entirely red sand. The view at the end is stunning.

Fantastic trail with red carrot colored sand, some cacti, and a narrow canyon leading so a spectacular overlook. Pretty easy and quick.
