I thought the walk up the wash as a great workout for my lower core. I went a couple hours before sunset, so the return hike was with the sun to my back but shining on the landscape stretched out in front of me. It was beautiful. Also, the same scenery as the prospect trail, just a bit further away. They had changed the trail markers - the white poles with the yellow band at the top - along the backside of the knoll. More sandstone crags that there is no way of seeing without walking along this trail to find.

I would agree with every word the lower comment David said about this being a bad trail that I would not waste my time with. I can say in my experience , this was no contest the worst trail in valley of fire, and the only one that I have a bad word to say about . It is annoying to walk through the sand, trail was not maintained well, views were subpar to the other trails, and to compliment I had a rattlesnake shake it’s rattler about 5 feet to the right of me about a mile and a half in. I would strongly recommend doing the other trails in Valley of fire before I do this

Beautiful and pleasant hike. Minor scramble section, otherwise in and out of wash and hard-packed trail. Incredible views and didn’t see anyone else on the trail.

Excellent and easy hike. The Pinnacles are hidden from view for so long, when you finally catch sight of the bright red rock reaching for the heavens, it it a stunning surprise!

Great hike with amazing views. Totally worth it! Trail markers and using the map in the app make it easy to navigate. Perfect on a cold winter day.

There isn’t a trail that is bad in this state park. This is a loop! The map I purchased at the visitor center has it as an out and back, which you can do, but the wash that you take on the loop back on is another layer to this hike and a must see. Well marked if you’re looking.

It was hard to follow the trail at times, but the rocks behind the hill we looped around were very cool. Totally exposed desert most of the time, so be prepared!

This is one trail, within the Valley Of Fire, that I will not be repeating. I tried this in July 2017 and found that it appeared to be a flat dry wash. The underfoot material is thus gravel and stones. Uncomfortable to walk upon and there is little interest in the flat hike in the hot July sun. Unlike the remainder of hikes in the Valley Of Fire, there is no remarkable scenery. It is, to me, just a hot trudge and I was glad to leave it. Such a shame as this hike is so untypical of the rest of the State Park, which is unbelievably beautiful.
