One of the sites at the Valley of Fire. This is the next site after The Cabins on the east side next to the Hwy.

Not really what you would call a hike. If you have never seen a petrified log before take it. If you have, save your energy for a little better trail and sights.

But if you go BEYOND the trail and down into the river valley... it’s amazing! We walked for 7km, played on the sand, and found some really cool rocks.

Skip it. I'm a rock nerd, and this was just boring. There was no visible agatization/shininess. The cross section looked woody, but the rest might as well have been a piece of sandstone. There is tons of cool stuff to do in this park - don't disappoint yourself by wasting even a little of your time on this worthless stop.

Not much of a hike but still fun for kids. You get a great view of some mountains.

If you have limited time this might be one to skip.

Not much of a hike and not much of a log compared to the better petrified logs at the west site

Was disappointed in this after visiting Petrified Forest. There are better hikes in this park.
