Great walk with the family. The sand is hard to get used to walking in and we all found that it tired our legs out pretty quickly. Make sure you download the map on your phone as there is no marked trail. We got off the trail for a while and had to hike over hills to get back on course. The sand makes for great headstands. Beautiful scenery and we saw lots of little lizards.

A nice hike through a sandy wash (soft deep sand in parts) that leads to an amazing view of geology. The trail ends at “God’s Bowl” which is a great place to have lunch and surround yourself with colorful pillars and rock formations. Make sure you have a map loaded as the trail isn’t well marked and can be a little confusing at the end.

Started hiking on this trails but when we found out that the namesake arch also called Ephemeral Arch had fallen the week of May 23 2010. Since my wife wasn't interested in a hike without an intact arch we abandoned the hike.

Here is a link to what the arch looked like before the collapse. http://www.naturalarches.org/BobsArches/VFEphemeral2.html. The current photo is for arch rock near the campgrounds

Beautiful, but soft and sandy.

I have a love/hate relationship with this trail. It's perhaps the longest four mile trail I've ever experienced. Most of the trail is in the sand which is very difficult to walk in. However, the views are stunning. I would recommend, but don't think you're in for a nice 4 mile jaunt. The middle of the hike is really the most spectacular. Also, if you're going to walk in shorts, I recommend wearing gaiters over your boots as you will kick up a ton of sand into your shoes and socks.

Good hike mostly follows the river bar so look for firm sand to make travel quicker and easier ,lots to see and enjoy ..trail eventually ends at a seemingly impassable rock face ..take the scramble trail up and over for great views and more miles ..could follow these canyons all day ,everywhere is awesome ..get out there check it out
