UP HILL.... UP HILL..... UP HILL...... UP HILL. On the way in it is just consistently up hill. Which of course means it's down hill all the way back. It's a very steep incline. The view at the end is very pretty. Sandstone Rocks at the end (before you head back) is where we ate our lunch. It was a perfect place.

Fun trail, beginning uphill climb is not for beginners. I'm not sure why no one mentions to head up toward the radio-like tower. Once you reach that, the path is really clear. Make a left at the split and eventually you will go down the other side toward the red sandstone≥ Beautiful views of the valley. Great hike. When you arrive the parking lot has a lot of trails to go off of. You will go to the second one in from the left. Once you start you will climb all the way up up up. Beautiful views at the end and if you are daring there’s a bit more scrambling you can do to get up to an even greater views. 10/10 would hike again.

Very cool view of Las Vegas! kind of confusing from the parking lot. lack of signs on which direction to go. The first trail on the left side will lead you to a residential area. Just take the 2nd trail from the left and start hiking up towards the Tower with antennas.

This trail is rated moderate and is on the steep end of moderate. If you have a four wheel drive, park next to the radio tower (about 1/4 mile from the paved road), This overweight, 50+ year old made it to the end with several breaks. The trail is overall steep and has some loose gravel. About 1 and 1/2 miles in, there is a fork in the road with a cairn in the middle. Take the path to the right. When to get to the sandstone, there is no clear path so stay left and keep climbing to the top. The end is well worth the sweat and pain. Don't miss this hike!

Wasn't paying attention and missed the turn to the east and had to back track a little bit. Once I got to the last climb I got tricked by some cairns that lead down into the valley to the south. That's not the right way. A couple came along just as I was about to turn around and showed me the path. To get up the rocks, just go straight -- there's a crack in the rocks directly in front of you that's relatively easy to climb up. Not hard -- I just over-thought it.

This hike had a lot of uphill activity. Made it to the top of the peak. I do not think the peak distance and difficulty is part of the trail distance and difficulty as it is at the end of the trail. It is so worth it if you have enough experience and or shoes to rock climb steep sandstone. I was able to climb it with no gear and found it to be the most rewarding and fun part of the hike!

Fantastic hike - nice, easy-to-follow trail, solid workout, and tremendous views/scenery. Definitely one of my favorite hikes around Las Vegas. Took about two hours to finish.

Very easy trail to Windy Peak obviously and a Peak I will not name. You have to hike to the 2nd peak to know what it is. Be weary there is one hand line on route to the 2nd peak. I also forget to start my AllTrails recording until half way down the limestone to the peak I won’t name.

Very fun and challenging hike with stunning views! The trail can be a little tricky (especially right from the parking lot and then at the very end) so definitely recommend downloading the map first!

the end of the trail near the Red R9ck you should go from the "tom stines" and go straight. makes it real easy to get to the ammo can.
