I haven’t done this trail. I’m just here to say there’s nowhere to park. All the streets leading to the entrance are “no parking anytime”. So unless you live in the nearby neighborhood, good luck.

Only 2 stars for the views in the beginning of the trail. Nothing special, absolutely zero shade, and trash everywhere. If you’re thinking of this trail just don’t. There are far better trails in the area, even better 15 mins away in red rock/calico basin.

Great way to open up those lungs and get outdoors! Please people, pickup your trash / ammo shells. Ugh.

Really beautiful trail for winter. Wouldn’t recommend in summer as it’s fully exposed.

Nice relaxing hike. Very little shade. Went around 2:30pm on a Sunday and we saw only a handful of other people on trail. There’s several trails in the area that you can turn off too. Lots of trash on trail

Nice hike, but lots of trash unfortunately. Planning to return in the future with a trash bag.

Beautiful open air trail. Great view of the city from afar on a clear day. Beware of the dirt bike riders who also use this area.

Be careful out there I slipped twice on how rocky it is, some of the sand is so soft it’s hard to grip. Also there are snakes I know we live in a desert but just want to give those going by yourself watch out.

Recommend this trail as an out and back along the higher ground, which gives better views. Trail is pretty easy aside from the initial ascent to reach the bench cut out of the hillside. This ascent is steep and has a lot of loose rocks, but once beyond it, it is smooth sailing. Trail follows a series of excavations into the mountain, and is not particularly developed. This is a shame, because I feel this would make a great park. There is zero shade, but I would note that during the last hour of daylight the sun will be blocked by the hills. Would make a nice evening hike to go up around sunset and watch the strip light up in the evening. Also note that the part of the loop behind the houses crosses private property, but I don't get the impression that it's enforced at all.
