Granite Peak Trail is a 6.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Paradise Valley, Nevada that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from June until November.
this hike offered excellent views for hundreds of miles. there are chances to see wildlife and a beautiful array of wildflowers. the only problem is that there isn't really a set trail. you follow the road until it ends and then you basically summit the peak via the easiest route possible, which can be sketchy at times. other than that major flaw (which seems common in this unmaintained wilderness), it was beautiful and you felt truly alone in the vastness.
