Fun little trial. Completed it in my stock 2019 Tacoma trd off-road with ease. The trail had a few other driver on it, other than that it was a really pleasant drive.

Didn’t go all the way through to the end, went up to Genoa Peak and back. Sunny but winds were freezing. We were in a rented side by side, no major issues. Easy enough trail but parts of it gets pretty narrow for a full size rig Very enjoyable trail with great views of Lake Tahoe.

It is a very slow-paced trail, decent view, not very challenging if you're experienced. Most of the trail is pretty well kept and part of it was rocky. The first half of the trail was mostly "woops", forces you to go extremely slow, that is the only part I dislike.

if you are looking to get a great view of Lake Tahoe, this trail is well travelled and has some spots that will push you, but not hard. beautiful meadows and wonderful paths thru this mountainside trails. and dont worry about getting lost, they all seem to interconnect, so wheel away!

This trail is great for beginners. I just picked up a stock 2016 Jeep GC 4x4 and it tackled this trail no problem. I did most of it in 4x4 Low with the Rock setting engaged, and it was great. You definitely need to have something that has a good amount of ground clearance, but you don’t need anything too crazy as the stock height of my Jeep was fine. Also, the main entrance is still closed, so you’ll have to enter off of Donna Way, but it’s pretty straight forward once you get onto the trail.

We went off roading on this trail and had to take a back way in since the road was closed but it was so much fun! It’s easy to get off track but the app does a great job helping you keep on trail!

Nice easy trail that leads to a great view of the lake. Bouncy and fun but easy enough for a stock JK rental with no issues. The entrance on the map is closed but there is an alternate way in on Donna Way just down the hill.

Just ran it yesterday in my stock 2019 Tacoma sr5. Pretty easy trail with no real hard spots at all. Wasn’t nervous bringing the new truck through, but can see where some might in a few spots. Take it slow. There’s a few forks where you’ll have to check your gps to keep you on track. Beautiful view spot off the trail at the beginning.

Like the others said, main entrance is closed but just head down Donna way for an alternate entrance. Killer views of the lake, and a really easy 4x4 trail. Some ground clearance helps but not needed, just choose a good line. Be aware of dirtbikes and utv’s carrying decent speed, always signal how many are in your group. Definitely coming back here.

The south entrance is closed for construction but there is a detour through Donna Way. You dont miss much of the trail. Very fun trail, couple technical sections but just generally scenic. Saw a handful of dirt bikes and side by sides which could be a bit hairy as there are lots of hairpins and the trail is very narrow. No problem in a '19 JLUR. Never used 4-lo.

Took a nice trip thru this scenic trail. road is very nice and it was ok to do it in Merc GL. had few tire spins in the dusty/Rocky uphill section. P.S. Johnnie Tien-->we made all the way to hwy50(end of trail)--> no scratches(I had existing ones on right side...) and no turning back around for me. we joined in with a Rubicon JK along the way, close to trail end. nice place for pictures.

Completed July 20, 2019. NOTE: Main entrance is closed due to construction but there is an alternate route. Backtrack down Andria to Donna Way, then Scott Dr then to Kimberly Brooke Ln. There is a dirt road at the end and it will eventually meet up with Genoa Peak Rd again. Nice beginner trail for those working on their 4x4 confidence. Piece of cake in my stock 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Trailhawk). Nice scenery and nothing technically challenging on the trail. I would not recommend for lower clearance vehicles though as there are quite a few rocks here and there. I stuck to 4low, 1st and 2nd mostly to keep my foot off the brake. I took Logan House Creek Trail back and didn't encounter any difficulties there either.

Super fun entry level trail. Took our 4runners, and ran into a stock Tacoma TRD off-road that tagged along. Kept it in 4-lo, and in 1st and 2nd gear most of the time. No need for lockers, but a lift or skid plate would be helpful in some sections as there were a lot of rocks. Saw a brand new Mercedes GL that tagged along, but he had trouble going up steeper hills, and scratched up a couple of his panels in the more narrow sections. He ended up turning around. I do not recommend bringing your stock height crossover, you will struggle. Any stock SUV or truck with low range and good tires will make it thru easily.

Genoa peak, I love being up there, you feel as though you are in an airplane with such views. any half capable off road rig should have no problem getting up there. Go, have fun, take some snacks and watch the sunset.

Fun trail. Passable in a Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 with a small lift with no issues. Some rocks, snow and water as to be expected. Minimal snow across trail. Some great views of the mountains, lake and trees. We ran across 3 other vehicles enroute.
