A beautiful park with a rich history...this hike features ponds, historic buildings, and a natural spring lake. Fishing is allowed with a permit. There are all-gender restrooms, clean and well supplied. Overall a great place for people of all ages and ability levels. There is a $6.00 per car entrance fee. Accessibility: The main trail surface is paved and typically at least six feet wide. The grade is flat (all estimated under 1%) so most wheelchair and stroller users will likely find this trail navigable.
Just a lovely place. Very restful and folks are calm. Lots of fishing, if that’s your thing. All patrons are mindful of keeping their dogs on a leash. If you need a close get away, I highly recommend this spot!
Nice place for a suburby hike. Pro tip: you don't have to pay to get in if you park on one of the side roads and walk through the trails filled with humming birds (and hopefully you can spot a burrowing owl!). When you reach the lakes they are filled with ducks, geese, and heron - really nice place for bird watching. The area with the historic buildings is nice to explore, especially with all of the peacocks! I heard them before I saw them, such an added special treat. Very simple, wonderful little walk through three separate ponds. A beautiful little oasis and escape from the big city. Very family friendly with fishing, bbqing, families playing games and others relaxing and taking in the view of the tranquility of the park.
