Absolutely beautiful views, great beaches, we had a great day here. We took our 3 year olds and the hike down was no problem at all. After a long day of fun in the sun, swimming, etc, the hike UP was not as great. If you are taking a bunch of stuff down there, you want to make sure you're prepared to lug it back up with you. All in all, great beach for families, clean, free, and extremely beautiful.

This was a quick 10 minute walk down the trail to the beach. Very easy and kid friendly. The hike back up is not difficult at all and could be managed by all ages.

Spectacular views of Lake Tahoe! Great path, easy to follow. Up and down terrain that was manageable!

This is a great family friendly hike. A lot of places to stop for swimming or sunbathing. Absolutely gorgeous views and lots of picture opportunities. The only downside is that it's a pretty heavily trafficked trail, so you don't get as much alone time.

Beautiful, short hike to breathtaking, remote spots on the lake. Lots of Rocky photo ops along the way or you can go all the way to the sandy part if Chimney Beach. Dog friendly as well and not much of the lake is these days.

Easy and GORGEOUS! Wear good shoes cause it is still a pretty good uphill walk on the way back up to the road. Be sure to get there early!

Stunning views, easy walk down, fun climbing around the mini boulders surrounding the shore, and best of all, the water was cool not ice cold.
However, there were A LOT of people there around midday, and it was blazing hot out - my mistake, of course.
Climb back up was a bit grueling because it was steep, but ok altogether.

Steep hills going back which can be challenging but to get to the beach/lake...it's worth every short breath!

Amazing short hike! Like the other reviewers mentioned, the first part is steep. You head down a hill, which means you'll be walking back up it. It's short and not bad at all. If you want an easy trek because you have 30 kids in tow, go to Sand Harbor. Also, there was an easy creek crossing shortly after the steeper section. There are amazing views of Lake Tahoe since you're so close to the shore. When it comes to beaches, there seems to be something for everyone. Yes, there is a clothing optional area, as well. Bring a towel to avoid rock rash. Parking can be tricky!

Kinda steep early on from the parking area but once down near the lake it's very easy and beautiful views of the lake. Multiple beaches accessible from this hike. Just be aware at this beach and south that there are clothing optional areas. Stay north as you hike and you will most likely be able to avoid this.

Great hike, we started at the parking lot South to sand harbor. The trail is a bit steep on the way down, but then along the lake it's a pretty easy hike. Gorgeous secret beaches with amazing boulders and turquoise wster. Feels very private and serene. I'd really reccomend this trail. The only difficult part was the way up to the parking, may not be suitable to very young kids, but can be done with more stops. It's worth it!!
