Cave Rock Trail is a 0.8 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Glenbrook, Nevada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Easy trail that goes to the top of the tunnel over hwy 50. Well maintained, all ages to the base of the rocks that form the tunnel. Little more climbing there but still easy to get to top of rocks. WONDERFUL picture spot. Kid friendly for non-squeamish parents. This is a walking trail for sure.
If you live in the Tahoe area, you have to go hike this trail. it is the biggest bang for your buck in my opinion. Yes, it is only .8 miles round-trip, but there is a bit of scrambling at the very end to get to the top of Cave Rock. There are complimentary views just below the scramble, which will still have made the short hike worth it, but if you are sure footed and not afraid of heights, go the extra bit to see some of the most magnificent views of Lake Tahoe around.
Easy hike until you hit the rock. Not for the faint heart but the view on top is stunning.
Super quick, spectacular views, a bit of a rock climb at the end but totally worth it.
