Nice hike through Tahoe forest to Castle Rock. Beautiful views. Good rock climbing if you want to go to the top. Trail markings are somewhat confusing, as the hike joins and then leaves a portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail.

Beautiful views! Dog loved it, but couldn't scramble up the boulders to the top (or couldn't find the right path up).

Great hike: easy 3 mile loop but in the middle, you start to make the trek upwards and then come to a pile of beautiful boulders. If you climb the rocks straight up, you come to a full view of Lake Tahoe. Great for kids that have hiked before (the rock climbing part would be difficult for small kids or those that do not hike regularly). We had a group with kids ages 15-6 and we were fine.

This is a fun trail run or hike with the kids. It has the quintessential large granite boulders that are found all around Tahoe and tall beautiful trees that keep you in awe around every corner. The trail does get a little confusing right at the end, where it meets the Castle Rock. Just climb around on the rocks and go to the other side to get a great view of Tahoe.

Great hike, fantastic views. The loop is very easy to follow, but the summit hike gets lost a bit towards the top. I ended up having a bit of a rock climb for the route I picked, which was a bit off the trail.
