Nice hike through Tahoe forest to Castle Rock. Beautiful views. Good rock climbing if you want to go to the top. Trail markings are somewhat confusing, as the hike joins and then leaves a portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Went without snow shoes and the snow was about waist deep. Definitely recommend snow shoes if it's really snowy, but beautiful hike, great views and good bouldering at the top

Moderate hike but completely worth the end result. The peak provides sweeping views in almost every direction. Short enough to do in a couple hours or you can connect to other trails.
Very easy hike, the trail itself is well kept and the hike even though it has a slight incline from time to time I consider it to be an easy hike, great view over the rock of South Tahoe.
Nice hike with great views once you get up to the rock area.
Nice loop however directions a little misleading so this slight adjustment is worth noting. Per Alltrails we started at 433 Marianne Rd parking. Took a short jog to the loop however on return we ended up at the Andria Dr trailhead. To get back to the loop we needed to walk about 150 ft to a jeep road that got us back into the castle rock loop. Good news is Alltrails app helped us locate it. Looked like most people start from the Andria Dr entrance.
Fun moderate short with great views
