This trail provides access to Aurora and Bodie Ghost towns. Travel is limited to 4 wheel approximately 3 miles south of the junction of Hawthorne and Aurora Roads. Be sure to visit the Aurora Cemetery at the top of the mountain. The ride through Del Monte Canyon is great. On and ATV or UTV you will need a helmet after you cross the California state line, firearms are very unwelcome in California and particularly at the Bodie State Park. This is truly a must visit area. The trail is closed after the first snowfall and usually until early May.
