Redtail Lake is a 1.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Richardson, Nebraska that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, birding, fishing, and snowshoeing and is best used from January until January. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
One of my favorite spots for "hiking" and photography. It's a peaceful place just to relax along the hill and just sit and enjoy the scenery. In my experience I've found it uncommon to encounter others while hiking around the lake area so it seems to be a good place to take your dog and let them roam (with your leash at the ready) with you. The lake gets decent ice fishing use during the winter. I've not encountered anyone fishing during warm weather months.
