The trail is primarily used for hiking, trail running, camping, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Northlook nature trail leads through the canyons and rocky bluffs of the park with an overlook towards Scotts Bluff.

Narrow and somewhat rutted paths... I tried to stay on them for fear of rattlesnakes in the taller grass outside the normal path area and instead I just about sprained my ankles a half dozen times.
