Caution: The trail is fairly overgrown with underbrush much of the way. There's logging near the trail (as of 7/9/2020) and a section of the trail is a logging road, so you have to find the trail access points. The sections being logged and where the trees were blown down is now unshaded

Great Day hike! Didn’t see anyone else on the trail. Fallen trees have been cleared, however there are parts that are fairly overgrown. You are in and out of shade the whole way.

As of 7/9/2020 there's active logging near the trail. A section of the trail is a logging road (probably always was), but another section is now a rough logging access road. You'll need to follow that to find the trail resumes at the end .

This is really easy trail. Around 2 miles in, there are downed trees but it greatly adds to the experiance. we took our time and it was worth it. I hope to do this trail again, and more.

We love this trail to take the kids on and they easily did 5 miles on it. About the 2.5 mile mark in, the down trees aren’t cleared well and it’s a lot of climbing up and over. Also, TICKS. They were everywhere and even after thinking we were all clear, found some when we got home and the next day. I’m assuming it’s because of the mild winter and all the down trees/brush, but still no less gross.

This has been one of my favorite go to trails for kids, beginner hikers, or if you want a beautiful easy hike. Unfortunately between September of 2019 and Spring 2000 we had three major wind storms that took down many trees. A lot of time and effort has gone into clearing the trails. While it’s not the same I still recommend this hike. It’s just a different beauty and appreciation.

Lots of trees down in the first mile in but then mostly clear. Snow increases slowly in depth along the route to ~3' at Wolf Creek. We made it a through trip to Bear Creek road which was slightly tricky to navigate near Wolf Creek but improved along the way. That trail is mostly clear except for the last 1/4 mile with quite a bit of downfall.

Seemed like a great trail but only like 0.5 miles in came to a bunch of downed trees blocking any trace of the path.

So we did this thinking we could do the loop. The first .9 miles are great to the forest road and then the forest road is fine down beyond the switch backs. After that though there is zero trail to keep taking right off the fire road as the map suggests. The fire road itself continues into private property and we had to turn back and hike back. So for those that want to do the 4+ mile loop off the right of this....don't.
