Great trail, alittle hard to see the trail after the first lake, which is low now, but used the app to keep us going the right way. Go to the second lake, it’s beautiful and so peaceful.

Lovely walk to a clear pond. ~1 mile round trip. Some elevation. Not anything to be concerned with. We hiked with 2 large dogs and had a nice little stroll!!

the trail to the second lake is gone or not marked clearly. This little lake is very tranquil to hike to.

First and foremost is bring bug spray!!! Easy enough trail to both lakes but I registered a 600 ft elevation gain. At the last lake the trail around the lake has degraded a lot and is slow going with a lot of downed trees and loose soil. Again more mosquitoes to contend with.

I would give this trail a 4 star if it were better marked. We missed the trail at the first lake, but went a different way and it worked out. As mentioned before- DO NOT attempt to go around 2nd lake- if there ever was a path, there is no more. I would agree that parts of this trail are moderate. There are a few trees down but you can maneuver if you want to get to the second lake. The road in and out is pretty much a single lane so be aware of oncoming vehicles. The hike was beautiful with lots of wild flowers.

Approach road to the trailhead is very narrow, fortunately we didn’t have to pass but one car coming in the opposite direction. Very pretty hike, lots of wildflowers. The loop around the lower lake is not well marked, we were unable to figure out where the trail split. No signage so you’re on your own figuring that out. Although it appears that there is a trail around the upper lake there IS NOT!!! We and others we encountered today tried it, and it was a total bushwhack. Do not attempt!

Gorgeous. Secluded and wooded hike. Easy to Moderate: Small elevation change. But not too strenuous. Trail is very well marked. Bear country. Late afternoon brought a lot of mosquitoes... The upper and lower “lakes” were a beautiful reward. NOTE: As you turn off of Hebgen Lake Rd (Hwy 287) the Forest Service Road you want to take to the trail is actually marked “971”, rather than 791, as Google incorrectly indicates. Forest service road itself is long, climbing single-lane, dirt road was a bit treacherous.

Great trail in good shape. As others have said it is more of a moderate trail than easy.

Couple of trees down but otherwise pretty clear path. I would also agree that for us this wasn’t easy but more moderate.

Amazing views! Definitely worth the hike but I would not call this “easy”. This was a moderate hike for us.

I would not rate this hike “easy” more of a “moderate” hike because from the start you climb about 300 feet in the first .05 mile. Switch backs all the way but it was unexpected due to the description and reviews. Told the in laws it was an easy hike and it really wasn’t for them. That said, it was buggy but we had bug spray and shared it with others on the trail. The first lake was very low. We kept walking to the next lake and it was worthy the hike. Beautiful, peaceful and the lake has fish!

Very buggy! I had bug spray on, but was still eaten. advise to wear long sleeves and pants. lake would be pretty without the bugs. not too hard, so was good for my parents and the little ones. good for walking families in nature.

Unfortunately late afternoon thundershowers cut our hike short at the first lake so my review is limited. But it was beautiful & we will try and go back to finish. Trail itself is fairly clear, narrow and alternates between sandy & slightly rocky. We saw hoof prints from horses and elk and bear tracks near the lake. Not another person in sight!

Nice short out and back at about 2.6 miles with very modest 328 ft elevation climb. Two lakes and a nice waterfall. Saw only one other person. Nice trail with no issues. Easy overall hike. Heard a Moose and saw a bear a week before on the nearby Johnson Laketrail.

Great quick trail. There was nobody on it! Lots of horse poop at times and a little steep. But overall nice a quick hike
