Waterworks Hill is a 3.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Missoula, Montana that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and running and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Beautiful morning on waterworks. Started before 8 as the only car in the parking lot, lot was full when we finished. The path was a little bit ice covered in places, so come prepared.
Good little walk. Bit of an uphill incline but decent for the dogs and such. Great view of the city :)
I was looking for a trail that was decent walk and gave me a taste of Missoula and Montana. It was a decent climb and beautiful views. Everyone I came across was nice. It wasn’t that busy at all going up. One person coming down (before 7am) and a runner up ahead of me once I got further. Crosswinds most of the time. The trail I was on I thought was waterworks, I went until it ended then turned around. That seemed correct. There were signs to all sorts of other trails going off in different directions with varying lengths. This is a great resource for longer hikes and a quick one to get breath taking views in before your day, or to end your day. I’m headed out on a 16 hour road trip. Thanks Missoula!
