From the main parking lot it is a perfectly fine trek up. The upper leg was rather icy so one must take care as a slip and fall could mean a rotten trek down. Got to the top and the views were stunning. Weather was messy so I was almost alone. At the top there was also a - shhh - geocache so if you are so inclined bring a wee item and a pencil. Continuing back down on the route it was very muddy. Many more people going up, then, so it seems I hit it at just the right time. I think this will be a frequent route for me, now! The weather watching up there is wonderful.
Phill Guay recorded wandering Blue Mountain
So many ways to wander Blue Mountain. This one leaving from forest road 365 and going to the top of, I believe. vista point is nice. Wooded as well as open and great views of both the bitterroot and Missoula valleys from the top. Good exercise for a short hike
