Turn Left on Bear creek and take 1st right to stay on Red Crow Rd, follow until end and make a left on Sweathouse Creek Rd. Stay right toward end of road which takes you to trail.

Great trail! Lots to see. Picked some Hucks along the way. We hiked to the top falls and then sat at the lower falls for a little lunch. Enjoyed this hike!

Great hike. Getting to the falls was well worth it.

Steady easy to moderate climb on a wide trail with some rocks and soft needle cast until the diversion stream crossing. After that trail narrows but still similar tread. After small muddy crossing, trail becomes rocky and steeper for the last 1/3 mile to lower falls. Upper falls are another 5 minutes. Very enjoyable.

Awesome fairly easy trail. Make sure you don’t make a left and go through the gate! That’s the wrong way. Falls are beautiful, very busy!

It’s a fine hike, the falls are relatively unspectacular honestly. Don’t get me wrong I appreciated the hike but it’s closer to average in my mind. I could name several hikes in the Bitterroot much more unique and beautiful. This is a good solid experience but Sweathouse should be nowhere near your top-5 hikes list. Conditions were good though. Rocky terrain with some shrubs closing in on the trail towards the later stages. Not real difficult to traverse. Dogs enjoyed themselves. More hikers than I anticipated but it was a warm weekend...

Nice trail was busy on the weekend with families flocking. I’d say it was beautiful but not necessarily stunning. I like several of the other nearby hikes a little better. That being stated - we had a great time at Sweathouse. The falls were really pouring! Our dogs loved all the easy access to the creek. Trail was easy drive easy to find

Beautiful hike! I took 4 of our kids ages 17 to 10. The waterfall at the top was absolutely worth the elevation gain! Loved the sound of the rushing creek the whole way. We’ve lived here for two decades and this was our first time up here...and now one of my favorite hikes! I highly recommend it!

The trailhead is not marked. When you are on Sweathouse creek road, park where you see the No Hunting sign and last chance to park. Then walk west and go past the gate that says road closed. This is a quarry. Keep walking up the road and it turns into the hiking trail (still not marked). The trail to both the first and second waterfall is well maintained, although there were a couple of muddy spots and two water crossings. After the second waterfall, the trail continues but is not well groomed. There are lots of dead trees up this far, so it is not as beautiful. The creek was flowing strongly and was gorgeous all the way up.

Excellent trail. A bit further than what the app says but worth it. Steady incline the whole way. A lot of running water and rock hopping halfway up right now.

A Few obstacles. Trees down. Spring run offs. Deer carcass. Falls are beautiful!

The beginning is very easy, goes past a rock quarry along a road then turns into the trail. Not steep until the last 1/2 mile of switch backs throughout rocks. Would be a great hike with kids, no steep edges or cliffs, does have a few places where you step from rock to rock. Very picture worthy hike! We went in the morning and had the trail to ourselves, then encountered multiple parties coming up as we were coming down after lunch.

Great trail, steady incline to the falls. Snow is melted, went early morning so the mud areas were not messy yet. Hearing the water all the way was marvelous!!

Great hike! Wonderful scenery. Waterfall is beautiful and you are pretty much along the creek the whole time and you can hear the water. Beautiful!

Like so many Bitterroot Canyons, this is a beautiful hike to the falls, and it always feels like we cut it short by turning around!!! Keep going!

Great hike. Starts off with a few sections of climbing, then levels out a bit. Has a great rock garden area with large granite boulders then opens up with a few cathedral views of Boulder fields and some cliff faces. A couple of switch backs later and you are at the falls. Great spot for lunch.

There are just a few spots where the trail is muddy or under 1-2” or water, but they are easy to cross and totally worth it to see the waterfalls as roaring as they are right now. Tons of wildflowers and butterflies. Great hike!

This is a beautiful hike. There’s a variety of terrain and I would rate it as moderate. Lots of shady area right along the creek. It climbs at a constant pace so definitely a nice moderate workout. This is one of my favorites.
