Beautiful waterfalls but busy trail

Very nice hike. Honestly the waterfalls are beautiful but if you traverse to sun point afterwards the view is fantastic of the lake and mountains surrounding. The best parts of the hike are the beginning and end. The middle portions are quite exposed due to the wild fire. It was pretty heavily traversed when we did it at the end of July and the waterfalls were a little crowded. Just like any hike in Glacier it is best to get there early.

What an extraordinary area this is. For a full trip report with pictures see ‘Pursuing Balance Through Adventure’. https://nationalparkshikingpursuingbalancethruadventure.wordpress.com/2019/10/30/st-marys-falls/

This trail had some very pretty sights of the river and the waterfalls were worth the trek! Other parts of the trail are not as exciting and unfortunately the first part of the trail is still recovering from a previous fire. (July)

I experienced St. Mary’s wonderful falls in late Summer. Great wooded hike, with pee-boo views of St. Mary’s Lake and distant glaciers. Did this hike today and really enjoyed it. Nice and easy, icy in some spots but was mostly melted by noon. The waterfalls were beautiful! We hiked down to Baring after and was worth seeing the lake. Can’t get over how pretty all the glaciers are. Highly recommend!

The waterfalls on this hike were outstanding. I did this hike yesterday when the cloud cover at Logan's Pass made my earlier planned hike not as appealing. I was not disappointed. I think it's especially amazing right now because the fall colors are just starting to emerge. Definitely a hike for all skill levels.

Great easy trail with two water falls as your reward. Very popular trail so crowed. Well groomed do to heavy traffic. We saw lots of deer while hiking. If you are on East Glacier side this should be a must do hike for you. Parking can be difficult so plan to hike early in the day. Don’t miss the Virginia falls. Worth the little extra effort.

This was an “add on” last minute. Turned out to be one of our favorites! Saw two moose (needed binoculars, but they weren’t too far). Continue to Virginia falls!! Superb spot!!

Gorgeous and fairly easy trail, some slippery spots when raining. We did this on a rainy day to save our "vista" hikes for a clear day. Gorgeous waterfalls, Virgina is totally worth the extra time and effort!

Easy nice hike with pretty views of the lakes and the falls are nice also. Saw a moose hanging out on the banks drinking water. Very busy parking, plan on waiting or driving a little further and walking back.

Good easy trail. It’s worth going to Virginia falls. There is limited parking at St Mary’s falls, and this trail is popular, so unless you go early, expect to wait around for parking or park elsewhere that will add mileage to your journey.

Great trail! We hiked it early in the morning hoping to see moose along the way but did not. We did see a couple of extra waterfalls which were really nice.

Very much enjoyed this trail. Shaded and loved all the waterfalls. We saw a mule deer right on the hiking trail. We also saw a moose on the shore of St. Mary River.

Amazing hike!

Beautiful trail. The fall at the end of the trail is massive, and the small falls along the way make for some excellent resting points.

There was a few waterfalls along the way. Very enjoyable walk. Love the color of the rocks here!

This is a great trail with a lot of beautiful features along the way. Both waterfalls are well worth the relatively easy trek! The most difficult thing about this hike was finding parking--we waited in the parking area for about 20 minutes before other hikers finished up and left in their car.

Completed on July 8. Parked at Sunrift gorge and added Baring falls in for a lovely trifecta. Such a beautiful hike but be aware that the shrubs get high in places and there are some blind corners so make noise to not startle bears if they are around. Total hike was around 6-7 miles I think.

Lovely trail. Not a wide trail and some jagged rocks to watch footing. Wonderful once you get to the falls to sit and watch from the rocks.
