Ok so, I saw this trail and decided to give it a go to get to Hanging Valley Trail 135... we started on 137 Flower Creek and according to AllTrails and the Montana Forest Service maps it is 2.3 miles to the left turn for Hanging Valley. If you continue straight you start switchbacks and head up to Sky Lake on the left or sugarloaf mountain on the right (2 additional miles beyond the left turn)... we hiked up to where the GPS showed the left turn to Hanging Valley and there was no trail... at all... we searched... we continued up the switchbacks hoping to find a way across the creek and over to the other side of the ridge with no joy. Our travel plans were to Hanging Valley so we were forced to turn back as there was no cell signal to update travel plans. On our way out we spoke with a local and they informed us that trail maintenance has all but stopped since Montana outsourced maintenance. Trail to Sky Lake is clear but the map on this to Hanging Valley is incorrect and the trail does not turn left.

Lots of fish and the trail was pretty easy except the last mile which was pretty steep. Trail was well maintained

With the traverse of the screw slope this trail should be rated difficult
