Did this trail with my husband and 8 year old son. It took us a couple of hours and was pretty easy. We took a detour trail down the middle and the rejoined the trail described here. While it was a little longer it was beautiful and worth doing.

Fun little hike. I am guessing this is rated moderate for the uphill portion. The old cabin was cool. Definitely watch out for mountain bikes- there were way more bikers than hikers on the trail today. Some wildflowers. Very pretty.

I went the meadow way first and then down Curry Gulch. The meadow is beautiful and it’s not difficult to hike up the gradual incline.

Took my wife and 2 young kids (6 and 10) on this hike and they did fantastic. The second portion of the hike was the most memorable descending along a more exposed mountain side. Highly recommend :)

Nice loop. Easy 5.2er just north of Missoula. Good views about 1.5 miles in and a nice meadow for wildlife watching if there isn't too much foot traffic. "I like"

Very pretty walk! Fun in the snow. Didn't do the whole loop. I'm hoping to in the future. Amazing scenery!! Good spots to take photos.

It was super pretty in the snow. Not strenuous at all but a good quick hike!

Hiked this in the snow- made it more difficult (hello hip flexers! and cold!), but it was worth it. The maps available at the trailheads are super helpful, just make sure to return them when you're done.

I've enjoyed hiking this trail several times, each time I find something new along the way. Watch out for the mountain bikes, and keep a look out for the old cabin towards the North end of the trail.

There are a few ways to make this trail a fantastic loop, the downside is, that no matter which trails you choose, you are gonna have a hell of a strenuous climb, the good news is, what goes up, must come down, and it's a 100% adrenalin filled downhill ride.
I preferred to climb Sawmill and cross onto Stuart Peak, head down and veer onto Wallman. Another great option is to climb Wallman and come down Sawmill.
