Went to the trailhead to roam around mostly because the trail we wanted to hit today had full parking. This area was a pleasant surprise! There is high visibility due to low tree density but the trees are super high so there is still great shade. It was a great experience, and I plan to come back out to do some more exploring on a bike.

The map in the main trail listing is not the Sam Braxton trail. Follow 9.0.

Difficulty: 1/5 Not much elevation gain, and there are multiple trail options here depending on how much elevation gain you want. Trail maps accessible from the parking lot. Quite a bit of snow on this trail when I was there. Accessibility: 4/5 Pretty easy trail head to get to with lots of parking. I can see the road being more difficult during colder months Views: 2/5 Nice views within the forest, but there's not really a spot that provides good mountain views.

Stay in 9.0. Do not get off on a different trail. The map at the trailhead was a bit confusing. Took me a second trip to get it right :). Beautiful hike!! I logged it as 3.6 miles with Alltrails pedometer.

This was a good hike. The trail markers can be hard to read/find sometimes. But there were maps located on the info board in the parking lot. We found using a map to be very helpful on this hike.

great for dogs, some mud pits are around and the dogs love them, however.

This is a fun, beautiful hike. So quiet and peaceful. I do feel that it's difficult is inaccurate. It's a harder hike than I was expecting for being marked as a easy trail. Also there is a lot more trails than signage even the trail on this site didn't match up. I would suggest to have a hiking book or map of the area would be helpful.

Beautiful, easy trail. Great for dogs! If you come to a confusing intersection with other trails, just follow the signs for trail 9.0 and look for the little recreation area logo on the tree.

If you go right along the Sam Braxton turn uphill on the 9.0 trail and then follow the GPS when you get to the loop. Really nice hike. Great vistas.
