Nice friendly (senior friendly) trail to a wonderful vista point at Rocky Point. 2 options. From near picnic area/campground wanders along the lake’s shoreline. Or from 1/2 mile further up the road, the trail takes you they the forest. We did that trail.

Beautiful forest views going up to Lake McDonald.

Fairly simple, standard hike. No animals spotted, cool and worth it but would try something else next time.

A beautiful hike, and a great option to ease into the parks many different trails.

Decent, fun little hike. Some great views of Lake McDonald. Pretty mosquito laden, definitely use lots of bug repellant.

Moderate trail through the forest. Plenty of shade in a hot day but pretty views of Lake McDonald made it very enjoyable.

Pleasant trail which brings you to a series of rock outcrops jutting into Lake Mcdonald. There was a fair number of people on this trail. But the views of the lake with the glaciers in the mountains on the other side are worth the hike.

Did the hike on 6/29/19. Nice enjoyable hike. Did it early in the morning and the views of Lake McDonald were covered in fog however there were some really nice outlooks had the fog not been there make sure you have some type of bug spray.

6/28/19 - A lovely walk in the woods. If you’re after a gentle and sloping trail with a nice mixture of flora, fauna and vista - this could be it. The area is thick with mosquitoes.

Interesting trail through forest and Robert Fire (2003) burn recovery area along north side of Lake McDonald. Stopped at Rocky Point for fishing and rock scrabbling. The hike is less than two miles from either the inside North Road or Fish Creek campground so not too challenging for beginners or children. Lots of benches along the way. Bring bug and bear spray.

Decent trail, but was disappointed to see the no dog signs when we arrived since AllTrails categorized it as dog friendly. Have bear spray on you in this area.

Quick easy hike with lots of fun places for exploring and rock hopping along the waterline, and of course incredible vistas. SO MANY MOSQUITOES so load up on bug spray.
