Rock Creek Streamside Trail is a 4.3 mile out and back trail located near Red Lodge, Montana that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, camping, and fishing and is best used from May until October.
Honestly, kind of lame. Ditched the hike after about a 1/4 mile and went up the road to lost lake instead.
This trail is a nice trail for just being outside. You can't see the creek the entire distance of the trail, so that was a little disappointing. The trail itself though was a nice walk. It leads from one parking area to another and there are branches off the trail that lead to cabins for the Lions Club camp. We went on December 19, 2015 and saw only 1 person walking with her dogs. There was snow over most of the trail but not deep enough for snow shoes. There just isn't much snow so far this year. It does seem to be mostly uphill one way, so it's nice on the downhill the other way.
nice easy hike with minimal traffic
Nice, easy walk along the rushing creek. Perfect. 2.4 miles out and 2.4 back.
Great trail for checking out this beautiful and flowing body of water.
