Hiked this trail August 14 of 2016. Camped at the foot end of the Lake. This is a low elevation trail surrounded by mountains. I saw more large wildlife here than any other place in the park. 1 coyote, 4 moose, and one Grizzly within a 14 hour period.
The trail is overgrown for a few miles but its not crazy bad. You get to cross a couple of cool suspension bridges on the way to the lake.
The foot end of the lake is a bit nicer with cleaner water than the head, but they're both good. Pit toilets are nice and relatively clean.
I really enjoyed myself here.
