Did not find the shorter loop and ended up on the bigger 12 mile hike, so had to turn around. Really beautiful, but wish we could have found the 2.3 mile loop. Encountered dirt bikes, horseback riders (from Jake’s Ranch), and hikers. All very polite of each other’s space. Gorgeous views!! Only giving 4 stars because we couldn’t find the shorter hike.

An easy hike close to Big Sky.

Nice hike; could have better trail markings. AllTrails said it's a 12 mile hike, a trail map we had said 4, no real distinction on the signs that we could tell. The horse flies were terrible so BRING BUG SPRAY

Easy trail to warm your legs up on for bigger hikes, go for a run on, or just enjoy a nice view. Can make this trail as long as you want with all the connecting trails.
Signage isn't the best on the connecting trails.

Rode this trail with Jake's Horses, a great outfit for trail rides

Solid chill hike that surrounds the explorers with the Gallatin mountains around Big Sky. We had to dodge some horse poo, but I'd recommend just sucking it up and treating it as a metaphor for life.

This is a trail for all skill levels. The description indicates this is primarily a hiking trail. However, this appears to be primarily a horse trail. It is very narrow and you must dodge a lot of what the horses leave behind.
