Easy side of moderate hike with nice foliage and a peaceful waterfall. The road leading there has a few grates that require decent ground clearance - our sedan was ok but a convertible might bottom out. Only wildlife we saw was a couple of harmless common garter snakes

Nature tripsGreat!

Beautiful hike! My dog and I went a little past the falls but didn’t make it all the way to the lake. This trail is the perfect combination of nature and access, lovely falls, great views as you get higher. My dog enjoyed swimming by the bridge and the falls.

My husband and I did this trail today and it was amazing. He is in very good shape, me not so much, and we both have no hiking experience . We loved the views and it didn’t wear us out too much. We took it slow and stopped a few times to dip our toes in the freezing water and for a longer lunch at the waterfall and it took just under 3 hours. It made for a semicolon day and we weren’t dead tired afterward! I would definitely do it again. Oh and the drive up to the trailhead is beautiful too!

Nice trail, although I didn’t have time to go to the end. After the first waterfall it is steeper. At the second waterfall, where I turned around, the path was not obvious

What a trail! As someone new to the state and new to the elevation, this trail was a great push for me and my mom. We took our time and made it to the falls and back in about 2 hours. The trail is full of rocks and uneven terrain, so be careful and watch your step.

Its such a fun trail, most of it is up hill and its very rocky, so wear the proper shoes! it's great to take your dogs on, with streams along the way if they're like ours and aren't hiking dogs anymore.

Great short route. Way up is rocky with some climb, but saw a lot of families.

Great hike, 2.5 mi round trip. Waterfall at the end well worth it. Lots of good spots along the way to enjoy views of the river.

Great hike! Very clear path and plenty of areas to stop and take in the natural beauty of the creeks and trees. My husband and I stopped several times so it probably took us 1.5 hours up to the waterfall and then 35-45 minutes down. We took our time and didn’t rush it. It was a rocky path with a moderate incline and not very steep. The only suggestion I have would be to add trail markers indicating where on the trail the hiker is (i.e. halfway to waterfall, .75, etc. Overall excellent hike!!

HikingGreat!

Got into town in the early evening and wanted a hike close to where we are staying (Emigrant) before the sun went down. Great quick hike. It was only a 20 min drive from Emigrant. The trail was well marked, pretty rocky but fine overall. Encountered several small groups of people on the trail. My sister and I are intermediate hikers and this was a good hike for us. The falls was beautiful with the evening sun, great little bridge. I would definitely recommend this if you're in the area and looking for a fun shorter hike. (For those being Covid careful, most people did not have masks to put on while passing; it's easy to wear a bandana around your neck and just bring it up over your mouth and nose when passing someone; everyone was kind though)

Trail is in great shape and waterfall is beautiful. Took my 3 young kids (7, 5, 3) and they did great (3yo alternated between hiking and kid carrier). Bugs weren’t bad at all but still bring spray JIC. Arrived at 10:30 and still had plenty of parking (Wed). Definitely recommended.

Easy day hike for families and simply to enjoy a stroll through the pine forest to a very lovely waterfall. Hiking to the top of the falls is recommended for another cool view. Someday I will hike to the lake!!

The falls are a great reward after 1.3 mile hike uphill. Trail has rocks so wear sturdy-soled shoes. Just a few muddy patches to navigate. I’m 50 years old, no experience hiking, had back surgery, yet found this hike to be just right for me! Don’t be fooled by the first waterfall off the trail a mile in. Go a little further and you’ll know when you’ve reached the big waterfall you wanted to see. Parking was fine at 10am but all full as we were leaving at 12:30. Will cherish this memory when we return to PA.

Wonderful hike with plenty of forested shade and a well-worn path. Be sure to detour onto the rocks (right of trail) just before the falls, where you can get up close with the river. There are two options to do this and both are worth it. Also be sure to cross the bridge at the falls to see its other arm.

Awesome trail to a spectacular waterfall. We encountered five small groups of hikers on the way up and same on way down. Easy to keep distance and take time at the top with the waterfall. Some puddles and mud patches, but easy enough to get around with a bit of balance and forethought.

Road to the trailhead was clear. Started this a little before 9am and didn’t see a single person on our way to the falls. The last quarter mile to the trailhead started to get crowded. Definitely recommend starting this one early. Didn’t run into any wildlife and there weren’t many bugs. Parts of the hike were muddy, but nothing a pair of waterproof boots couldn’t handle.
