We would call this a 2.5 mile ridge line trail. Unless you like hiking up a forest service road, drive up to the fire lookout and park your Jeep in the pullout, then ascend to the north on the ridge line path to the proper summit of Mt. Morrell. Always keep to the ridge line. Don’t be lured off to go cross-slope, and you’ll make it, after a couple ups and downs, to the summit at 8130’. You can see extensive fire damage from the 2017 lightning strike fire, which burned for 3 months, torching 160,000 acres. You can see the snow-capped Mission Mountains. Moderate hike.
